How do most of you all feel about a spinal the first in line or second in line for confirmation of DX?

Question:
I was told by my neurologist on my recent trip to Birmingham, AL. that if the brain-stem MRI I had taken was negative then I could take it to the bank that I didn't need a spinal MRI. The Neuro said that once the brain reveals no abnormalities suggesting MS, there is no need of the Spinal MRI - that only in 5% of the time will it be a determining factor. A lot of MSers do recommend a lumbar puncture... All four clinical examinations was good. The evoked potentials revealed no nerve impairment. How do most of you all feel about a spinal the first in line or second in line for confirmation of DX?

Answer:
You should have a spinal MRI. I had four MRI's = brain, neck area, upper back and lower back. Showed lesions on brain, neck, and spinal cord. At least I know. i saw my brain MRI and it looked just like those MRI brains in textbooks! Those white spots. See a different doc if this one won't do the spinal MRI. I've dumped two.
