Can you tell me what causes my symptoms below(They thought I might have spinal meningitis)?

Question:
I had the same thing happen to me last year. The pain was just unbearable. My husband took me to the emergency room and I was in such agony - I said I didn't care what they did as long as they gave me something for the pain first. They thought I might have spinal meningitis and so they did a spinal tap - but nothing. After they gave me the pain killers it started to get better and the next day it was better and almost gone.

Thanks for your response. I wonder what causes this?

Answer:
You sound just like some of my patients Marilyn. I have actually had to admit some of them because the pain was so unbearable.

I think it is a form of viral encephalitis. Thats why nothing shows on Spinal tap.

If anyone on the group has to have a spinal tap, be sure to have them save one little vial to send to Dr. Martin. He is growing out atypical virus's from many patients now. A truncated virus or a fragmented virus.

Some docs will call it aseptic meningitis.
